Since to build a superadobe construction only available cheap materials and low technology are needed, and also the resistance of this structure against natural forces is high, it was supposed to be considered as a temporary shelter and sort of accommodation for displaced people.
In 2004, the Aga Khan Award for architecture accrued to a complex of fourteen simple buildings in Baninajjar of Iran, designed and built by Khalili. Thereafter, numerous superadobe projects have been done around the world. Some of these countries include the United States of America, Algeria, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Dubai, Iran, India, Japan, etc.
